Misselin was a priest of Tar bes. S ai nt Gregory of Tours off ers high praise for him in a few words, comparing his virtues and merits to those of Saint Just in. It is re ad in an old manuscript that this holy priest placed himself at the head of the Bigo rraïs to drive out of Tarbes the Arian G oths, who had seized it and were committing unspeakable iniquities there. For several centuries, the deliverance of Tarbes was celebrated on May 25, the day on which the feast of Misselin was also held. For a long time, the feast of Saint Misselin has been celebrated on May 7. He is the patron of a parish in the vicinity of Tarbes, where tradition holds that he was born.
