Blessed Nicholas of Longobardi

Nicholas of Longobardi was an Italian peasant who joined the Minims, where his piety and miracles drew admiration. Although not a priest due to a lack of formal education, he led a life of austerity before dying in Rome in 1709. He was beatified by Pius VI in 1756.

    Nicolas, a peasant of modest origin and without education, entered the Order of Minims where he dedicated himself to a life of piety.
