    Life and Cult in Orléans

Saint Floscule, Bishop of Orléans in the 5th century, is recognized for his holiness despite the absence of detailed accounts of his episcopate in ancient archives.

Floscule or Foscole, as one reads in the oldest manuscripts, led a life shining with holiness, as witnessed by the ancient monuments of the church of Orléans, which however remain silent on the acts of his episcopate. Usuard mentions him in his martyrology; for several centuries his feast has been celebrated under the double rite in the church of Orléans; there was, moreover, in the city of Orléans, a parish church that bore his name. Under King Robert and in the time of Bishop Odoric, the body of Saint Flou wa s transpor ted with those of Saint Aigna n, Saint Mon iteur , and several others into the church of Sa int-Aignan, rebuilt by t his pious king.
