Between 1673 and 1675, at the Visitation monastery in Paray-le-Monial, a young nun, Margaret Mary Alacoque, received a message: the Heart of Jesus loves people and awaits their love in return. This message has travelled the world. “Amour pour amour” tells this story, from Margaret Mary’s childhood to the radiance of the Sacred Heart on every continent.

A film for everyone, freely available. It was made with the assistance of artificial intelligence. The words of Jesus are those that Margaret Mary reported in her writings, as quoted by Pope Francis in the encyclical Dilexit nos (2024): “This is the heart that so loved human beings…”. The film can be watched free of charge on the YouTube channel Sancteo FR (in French for now).

A universal film. The message of the Sacred Heart is addressed to all peoples. “Amour pour amour” is available in French. It will soon be available in English, Italian, Spanish (from Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (from Portugal and Brazil), Tagalog, Polish, German and Swahili: 11 languages, on every continent, and more will follow.

In the spirit of the Bollandists, for the general public. Since the 17th century, the Bollandists, learned Jesuits, have studied the lives of the saints with the rigor of historians. Sancteo does not claim to equal their scholarly work, but it keeps their spirit: starting from the sources. Its aim is to make these lives accessible to everyone, in a simple, educational and modern way, all over the world and in every form: films, stories, songs, comic books.

Sancteo.org: thousands of saints’ lives, open to all. In the 19th century, Msgr. Paul Guérin told in French, after the Bollandists, the lives of thousands of saints: this is Les Petits Bollandistes (in French), published from 1866. Sancteo took up these old volumes, saint by saint, to build a website open to all. More than 3,600 lives can be read freely there, searchable by name, feast day, era, place or patronage. Discover the saints.

Coming soon as a comic book. The story continues in album form: “Marguerite-Marie et le Sacré-Cœur de Jésus” is in preparation. To be notified of its release, simply sign up at sancteo.org/fr/bd-marguerite-marie (page in French).

“We want to make known lives that shed light, for all ages and in all languages,” explains the Sancteo collective. “Margaret Mary was a simple, hidden woman. Her message, however, has touched the whole world.”

About Sancteo

Sancteo is a collective. It wants to make the lives of the saints known to as many people as possible, all over the world, in every language and in every form: films, stories, songs and comic books. It draws on the spirit of the Bollandists: starting from the sources. But it tells these lives simply, for today’s audience, on the screens where people are.

Its motto: “Lives that shed light” (« Des vies qui éclairent »). All its content is on sancteo.org.
